A school that wants its students to be involved in their training. This week, TOUER Amani, a student in event management, now in communication at ISEFAC Groupe, shares her experience with us.
In a few words, who are you?
Amani Touer, I am a second-year student in communication. I would define myself as a generous, frank person and I give advice, really a lot of advice. What I like most is to make people feel good even when they are not doing well, I love feeling like a family.
You had to do an internship last year, can you tell us more about it?
Yes, in the first year, it allows us to realize all that we have learned. I did it in my sister's restaurant, DAHMANI. There were events and communication to do. It was the ideal setting for me, both as a family and as a professional. I'm not from Lille, so I wanted to feel at ease and that's what motivated me.
What did your internship bring you?
I'm a very shy person and I have a language barrier, so it was difficult for me. I didn't dare express my ideas, but my internship allowed me to open up to others. Today, I have gained confidence in myself, when I speak it is more natural even professionally. What helped me was to work on this fear of communicating, every day, in a team. The fact that I met the expectations of the clients, I was just happy.
And now what are you going to do?
I really enjoyed this experience and I plan to continue my studies. Applying what I learned in class in a professional environment was a real challenge. I had several missions but the one that attracted me the most was communication, so I decided to reorient myself in communication. With this new career path, I intend to take advantage of it to continue learning and take up the challenges that are offered to me.
