The PI'Days took place over two days, from 2 to 3 March 2023. Two mornings of conferences with two afternoons of speed recruiting around communication, marketing, digital and event management. An enriching experience for the students, future professionals, which took place in a friendly setting at the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat des Hauts-de-France.
Conferences
In the morning, the students had the opportunity to attend conferences on the different aspects of communication. The programme over the two days was punctuated by presentations from :
Estelle Hubert, on "Voice-over: the sensory asset of digital communication
Mathurin Sauvé, on "Event presenter, more than a voice, an expertise
Place de la communication, on "Euracommunication, the leading site for excellence in marketing communication in France
Etienne Moisy from Disneyland Paris, on "Product communication for in-house entertainment
Between presentations...
The lectures were a key part of the event, as they offered students an opportunity to hear testimonials and advice from communication experts. The presentations covered different aspects of communication, ranging from the importance of voice-over in digital productions, to presenting projects such as Euracommunication, to how to present events in public, to how to promote a company's products and services to the public.
... and participation
The speakers also shared their personal experiences, their career paths and their successes and failures with the students. They were thus able to learn from the experiences of communication professionals, and also ask specific questions related to their own interests. The presentations gave the students a better understanding of the different professions and aspects of communication, as well as the skills and qualities required to succeed in this field.
An opportunity
The conferences were also an opportunity for the students to network with the speakers and other participants. They were able to exchange business cards and make contacts that could prove useful in their future careers. The conferences offered the students an immersive and interactive learning experience, as well as an invaluable networking opportunity.
Speed Recruiting
The second part of the day was dedicated to speed recruiting, a recruitment method that allowed students to meet potential employers in a limited time. This was an opportunity for them to meet recruiters from different companies, organisations and associations with multiple offers in a short time. With more than 60 companies present over the 2 days, and no less than 200 students, companies and students were able to exchange, sell and learn from each other.
Getting to know each other
Companies had the opportunity to present their products and services to students, while sharing their experience and know-how in their field of activity. For their part, the students were able to discover new sectors of activity, learn more about the career opportunities available, and establish contacts with professionals in the sector. These exchanges allowed the companies to make themselves known to a qualified public and the students to be identified by potential recruiters.
The companies present were able to discover a wide range of profiles and experiences to which they could give advice and feedback. This was done with the aim of guiding their search for an internship or work-study programme, and directing them towards the opportunities best suited to their profile and career plans.
Better understand your sector
Participating in recruitment sessions means acquiring more interview skills and getting a first impression of the internship and work-study opportunities on offer. It is also a way of finding out about the current trends, demands and research of companies in order to develop your skills to meet these expectations.
Networking between professionals and future professionals
PI'Days, two days of conferences on communication and marketing with the desire of professionals, passionate about what they do, their project or what they believe in, to pass on their knowledge and experience to students. An experience enriched by the speed recruiting which allowed them to expand their professional network while creating internship and work-study opportunities.
