As part of their ongoing professional development, second-year Communication students at ISEFAC Lille took part in a week-long Communication seminar. The aim was to become aware of the different paths and possibilities in communication but above all to exchange on the different subjects and paths in communication.

3 former students with different specialities came to share their experience.

Clément Philippe, from school to Traffic Manager.

A career with different stages, Community Manager, SEO Assistant, Webmarketing & e-commerce Assistant and today, Traffic manager at JULES. His role is to plan and run advertising campaigns, but above all to measure the traffic of Internet users, to study the audience and the number of visitors to the site.

This is an opportunity for him to share his knowledge in the field of digital and web marketing. For the students, it is to learn the meanings behind the acronyms of the web (SERP, SEO, SEA, SEM, SMO, ADS) but also to review the different types of advertising (Non skip, Trueview for reach, Bumpers, Masthead, ...).

His advice for generating online and in-store traffic through digital levers that are profitable and work:

  • Define development objectives for traffic and audience

  • Implementing campaigns

  • Measure results through reports that measure the effectiveness of the levers

  • Imagine new acquisition levers

In order to be comfortable in this field, a few qualities are essential:

  • Creativity, generation of new means of acquisition

  • Knowledge of the web and the Internet

  • Mastery of the universe and tools

  • Mastery of communication channels and web analytics

  • Analytical skills

  • Rigour and organisation

  • Good interpersonal skills

The student in master 2 digital strategy came to bring her professional experiences, an opportunity to combine sharing and tomorrow's issues by raising awareness. Anne-Charlotte Beatse came as a freelancer to tell her story. It started in Brussels in the tourism sector and then, through experience and curiosity, it was the beginning of press relations. "There's a lot going on around you, look up, this city (Brussels) is nice and beautiful", a goal to tell what's going on through a positive gazette, and so Charlotte was born in the city.

Today, wearing many hats, Charlotte en Ville is Communication Consulting, Social Networks, Press Relations and Audiovisual Production.

A lesson in communication with hindsight through anecdotes or advice, that's what we were offered. Valuable recommendations to keep in mind but also to share.

"Don't make a buzz for the sake of a buzz".

"Storytelling is of paramount importance in the production of content

"It's important to leave a mark on the mind, you have to entertain, amuse, animate.

The most important thing is to bring "Love, pop and fun".

Being an agency communicator, Jules Lamoril of Publicis Consultant

From Graphic Designer to Brand Content, an evolution following several projects focused on social networks. It was after several projects that I started to question myself. "Why not go further? Not only in content creation but more in strategy. What, When, How?"

Today, an asset when it comes to addressing, making a request, or working with content creators, "I know their needs and expectations." Working in an agency allows you to interact with the different professions that govern communication.

Another point discussed was the importance of networking, keeping an eye on things... at an international level.

When an event takes place or is a precursor in a country, an exchange is made between the different divisions. This allows us to be reactive if it happens elsewhere.
